My stay at The Crown Hotel was quite enjoyable, thanks to its excellent location and charming atmosphere. The room was spacious and comfortable, although I did encounter some hiccups with check-in and the parking fees were unexpected. Still, the attentive staff and good dining made for a pleasant overall experience.

Rooms
8.0
The room I stayed in was spacious with a lovely view and beautifully decorated. However, there was a strange small step in the bedroom and bathroom areas that was a bit off-putting. Overall, the comfort of the bed made for a good night's sleep.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly polite and went out of their way to assist me, especially during dinner. While one receptionist wasn't the most friendly, most others were warm and welcoming, which really made a difference.
Location

The Crown Hotel's location is fantastic, just a short walk from Betty's Tea Room and various attractions in Harrogate. I loved being so conveniently close to everything in the town.
Dining
9.0
I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The menu offered a variety of well-presented and tasty dishes, and breakfast was a highlight with its fresh options. The atmosphere in the dining room was charming, and the service was perfect.
Facilities
7.0
Although the hotel didn’t have air conditioning, which is to be expected in older properties, the facilities were adequate. I made use of the car parking available on-site, though the £12 per night fee was a surprise.

5.4/10

I had a pleasant stay at The Crown Hotel, mostly due to its fantastic location and very welcoming staff. The charming historic decor added a lovely touch, but I did notice some areas in need of refurbishment. My room was spacious and quiet, although it lacked some modern comforts like air conditioning, which made for a warm night. Overall, it was a mixed experience but still great value for the price.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices, but dinner lacked the same quality and was a bit disappointing.

The hotel has a charming bar area and good communal spaces, but some facilities feel neglected and under-staffed.

5.2/10

I had a mixed experience at The Crown Hotel. While the location was fantastic and the breakfast spread was good, my room was rather disappointing and quite noisy. The building's charm was overshadowed by signs of wear and tear, making it feel less polished than expected.

Rooms
5.0
My room was spacious but showed signs of age, with a small en-suite that needed better water pressure. Some areas felt drab, and I had issues with noise from outside and within the hotel.
Service
6.0
The staff were polite and eager to help, which enhanced my stay. However, the reception greeting was somewhat brusque, lacking a warm welcome.
Location
7.0
The hotel's central location was a real highlight for me, as it offered easy access to all of Harrogate's attractions. However, the parking situation left much to be desired.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was a standout feature, with a good variety of options available, though the service felt a bit chaotic at times. Some items on the menu were quite appealing.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel boasted impressive architecture and communal areas, it seemed lacking in modern upgrades and facilities for guests, making it feel outdated in parts.

7.2/10

I found The Crown Hotel to be a magnificent building with a regal charm that takes you back in time. While my executive room was spacious and clean, it did feel a bit dated, and I was disappointed by the lack of privacy due to the window treatment. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of options, though I did read some guests had issues with the dining experience. Overall, the central location was perfect for exploring Harrogate, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

Rooms
8.0
My executive room was large, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, but it felt dated and had a clear glass window without any blinds, which was awkward.

7.0/10

I had a mixed experience at The Crown Hotel. The historic charm and warm staff really stood out, and the food was quite good, especially breakfast. However, the thin walls and the lack of ventilation in my room made for a less restful stay than I hoped.

Rooms
6.0
My room was pretty simple, with squeaky floorboards and no way to open the window for air, which was a downside. The bed was definitely comfortable, but I did notice the two single beds pushed together didn't help my back.
Service
8.0
The staff were super friendly and accommodating, making check-in smooth. I couldn't have asked for better service during meals; they were always around to help out.
Location
9.0
The Crown's location is right in the center of Harrogate, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like Knaresborough and other local spots. Perfect for anyone wanting to be in the hub of things.
Dining
8.0
Dining was a highlight; I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast had a good spread, and we managed to use the food voucher easily with a nice dinner. The atmosphere in the dining room was lovely, too.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, though I missed having better management of parking and some modern touches to the room. The local toiletries were a nice touch, adding a community feel.
